Ford Dana 60 Ball Joint Axle High Steer Kit

***Our knuckle machining shop only operates Monday through Thursday. No knuckle machining happens on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If your knuckle arrives to us on Thursday afternoon, it will not be ready to ship until Wednesday of the following week, depending on current lead time***

Description:

Our BJ60 high steer kit gives you heavy duty keyed billet steel arms and knuckle machining for 92-97 OBS Dana 60 or 99-04 Ford Super Duty Dana 60/50 axles. This allows you to get the tie rod and drag link up above the axle and leaf springs. This system is designed for traditional high steer linkage, not full hydraulic. See our double sheer steering option in this section.

Includes:

  • 2 arms
  • 2  knuckle machining services
  • 10 studs, nuts, and conical washers.

What we do:

Sky's machines your ball joint knuckles for our five stud keyed steering arms, using our 9/16" Dana 44 studs and conical washers. No weak four 1/2" bolt system here! Arms have a 2" raise to them to clear most leaf packs under 3.75" thick,

Note: Please remove your ball joints and spindle studs...There will be a $35 fee ea. for knuckles sent with ball joints and spindle studs for removal in our air press... This will destroy them both, and we will scrap them. Expect a bare knuckle returned. Knuckle needs to be clean and not molested!

Directions:

1. Order the this kit on our web site.

2. Package up your passenger knuckle without balljoints or spindle studs.

(ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR BALL JOINT REMOVAL- ADD TO CART HERE)

3. Clearly mark the box with your order number, full name and phone number.

4. Mail your knuckle to:

Sky Manufacturing
3580 Marcola Rd.
Springfield, OR 97477

5. We will machine it, pack the rest of your kit, and mail it back to you! If you order this kit with other parts, we will not ship the additional parts without your knuckle due to shipping cost factored as a complete order and inventory issues.

Additional Information:

If using the kit on a 92-97 Ford a minimum of 6" lift is required and possible engine cradle modifications needed to clear tie rod!

Arms are tapered for industry standard GM TRE's which are available in this steering section. They are also available with our HD Tie Rod and Drag Link Bars

Arms have 2 passenger and 1 driver tapered bore.

*Installing on an 80-97 Ford the engine crossmember will need to be cut down and boxed in. The tie rod will interfere unless you have about 10+ of lift

Steering Arm Info:
Our steering arms are CNC machined out of ASTM A572 Grade 50 steel. Grade 50 is a very strong low allow steel that fulfills our exceptionally high strength requirements, and is particularly strong for applications in which it is riveted or bolted. ASTM A572 Grade 50 is considered a "workhorse" grade and is widely used in many applications. Steel mills produce channel and heavy beams with Grade 50. It is commonly used in structural applications, heavy construction equipment, building structures, heavy duty anchoring systems, boom sections, structural steel shapes, and applications that require high strength per weight ratio.
*Tensile strength: 65,000 psi
*Yield strength: 50,000 psi
