Toyota Heavy Duty Steering Box Mount Kit. Fits IFS box 86-95, on either a solid axle 79-85 truck/ 4 runner or factory IFS truck. Can also be used on anything utilizing a Toyota IFS box such as Classic Bronco's.
We now have two versions. We've added a design that is optimized for use with our flat pitman arm.
Plates are 1/4 and 3/16 material, Dom sleeves are 3/4 OD 120 wall USA tube.
Includes grade 8 1/2" hardware, may require reaming steering box bolts holes slightly. We use Standard hardware as it fits tightly in the DOM thus decreasing potential failure points.
Kit includes 2 brace plates, sleeves for inserting through frame, and hardware.
Kit requires welding. Laser cut USA steel!
Instructions
Locate the steering box where you want it.
Use a transfer punch to mark the holes. Drill pilot holes, punch the holes all the way through to the other side.Â
Open up the holes on the inside of the frame large enough for the frame tubes to fit through.
Bolt the steering box, outer plate inner plate and frame tubes all on the frame. If the holes on the inside didn't get lined up perfect just die grind the holes until it all fits together. clamp the inner frame plate tight to the frame, trim anything hanging down. tack the plates and frame tubes in place.
Weld the inner plate and frame tubes, remove the steering box and weld the outer plate. Grind the frame tubes smooth with the inner plate. Paint. Install steering box.
